1.Enroll on Time
This may seem obvious, but failing to enroll in Medicare on time can cost you big. The Medicare enrollment period begins two months before your 65th birthday and ends two months after. Don't forget to enroll!
2.Make Sure What You Need Is Covered
Make sure that the medications you take are covered in your plan, as the out-of-pocket expenses for them can be high. Also, make sure that the plan you choose is accepted by your preferred doctors, otherwise you won't be able to go to them.
3.Look Out For Free "Extras"
Most Medicare plans include added benefits like dental/vision care, free transportation, or even gym memberships. Keep this in mind while looking, and see if any of the offered benefits would be beneficial to you.
4. Review Anticipated Health Care Costs
When choosing your Medicare plan, consider the plan's premium(monthly/yearly cost). A higher premium plan might be better if it helps cover more out-of-pocket costs like deductibles or copayments.
